About Me

Cinematographer. Filmmaker. Storyteller.

I am Blaine Casil, a freelance videographer/photographer from Hawai’i. I graduated Washington State University with a degree in Digital Technology and Culture, or DTC. I first started creating and editing videos when I was a junior in high school. It all started using just the basic features on iMovie. Back then I always relied on the “editing” step to fix my problems, I did not take into account that what I filmed and how I filmed it mattered. As I learned more and more I started to realize that editing is just a way to emphasize what you filmed. Toward the end of my senior year I started to learn how to use Final Cut Pro X and Adobe After Effects and this changed the way I made my videos. It made me realize how much more my style can grow and evolve. Now I use a mix of Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premier to make my films come to life.

Since I started college I have done multiple videos for different organizations such as the WSU Hawaii Club, the WSU Smart Start Program, Lambda Phi Epsilon International Fraternity Incorporated, Kappa Delta Chi Sorority Incorporated, Chi Sigma Alpha Sorority and also Stubblefields Bar & Grill. I have created highlight videos, promotional videos, and “how to” videos. Overall, my goal is to help others visions come to life with videography.
